The Wii Console And How It's Revolutionized Game Play

All of us like to unwind and relax and a big part of doing this is having fun and playing games. We might go out for a game of football or play a board game like monopoly but more of us are choosing to stay indoors, much to the dislike of medical and health professionals, and play on our games consoles. After all when you have a Wii Console that means you're more active than playing on a typical games console right?

Okay so the Wii may not be as big and flashy looking as its competitors and it may not boast the best graphics card but Nintendo never have taken things all that seriously. They base their products on game play and fun and these are 2 things you will certainly get with this console. That along with its unique features really does make it very special indeed.

The Wii doesn't have the typical wired or even wireless controllers it has something called a Wii Remote. This remote is pointed to a sensor on top of sat in front of your TV. The remote works in 3D and has sensors so it can tell if you swing, jab or poke and how hard you have done it, smart yes?

So in 2006 when this console came out people were happy to see something fresh and different and for those Nintendo fans they were even happier to find out that you can play old GameCube games and use the GC controllers and memory with the Wii a function that Nintendo has kept along most of its consoles, fixed as well as handheld. The Ds can even be used alongside the Wii and as a controller in some games!

There are also usb ports and memory storage and the facility to connect to the internet so this little white simple looking box isn't as featureless as the 360 fans may have you think it is! The internet connection also known as WiiConnect24 is a gem in itself.

The connection stays on and doesn't cost you anything except what you're already paying for your internet no fees are charged, this means you can play games alongside friends and chat to them, you can now even buy accessories that mean you can voice chat to that same friend as well which makes your gaming play even more fun than it was before!

There is even a parental control setting, although the console is based around fun and cute games there are also the usual shoot em up's and more violent games for the older market. Concerned parents can set an age limit based on the PEGI ratings on the games to put their minds at ease. Another cool accessory taking the world by storm is the Wii Fit Board.

The Wii Fit board is really making those who first dismissed the idea that the Wii got people up and on their feet as not being true and that it was no different change their views. Well who can say that when the board can be used as a step as part of an aerobics workout?
